All Good Maidens
Helston Old Chapel
7.30pm 2nd November 2024
by Nancothnan
Nancothan are a folk band based in West Cornwall. During lockdown, we researched and wrote songs based on the stories of women in the county’s industrial heyday.
Stories of working women, the privileged few, sad tales of lives gone wrong and songs of happier moments of partying and rich frivolity.
Our aim is to bring the songs to the people of Cornwall, to learn something of times gone by.
Alongside the songs, we also bring a genuine taste of the times with samples of food and drink familiar to the working people of the mines and associated industries.
To enhance your evening, we have images and stories to really bring the evening to life and create a picture of the times you will not easily forget.
