Helston Old Chapel

Our new home

Trevow Helston has been granted a 30 year lease on the disused cemetery chapel on Meneage Road in Helston. Our ambition is to repurpose the chapel into a welcoming space to share and develop high-quality and aspirational creative arts and community engagement projects.

With seating for a hundred people and sumptuous acoustics, we believe this small chapel is the perfect place for artists to develop and share creative work. It will also give Trevow Helston roots from which to branch out, a home of our own in the town.

The chapel has been important to the community for over a hundred years and our ambition is to once again open its doors to the people of Helston, creating a place of hope, aspiration and joy.

We are very aware of the sensitive nature of the building and its surroundings for people locally and we are committed to listening to and working alongside, anyone who has a connection to Helston Cemetery. We will be launching a community engagement programme later this year to start talking to people about how they can get involved and what, together, we can make happen for the town.

Where is it and what should I know if I'm coming to an event?

Our address is Helston Old Chapel, Meneage Road, Helston, TR13 8BH.

There is a large pay and display car park opposite the Helston Medical Centre, Trelawney Rd, Helston TR13 8AU. This is a 5-10 minute walk away. It is possible to drop-off and pick-up immediately outside the chapel building.

There is level access from the tarmac path into the side door of the chapel. There is space inside the chapel for wheelchairs. The seating will be on pews. If we can support you at any of our events in other ways please contact us on guy@cousinjacks.org

A small pop-up bar is available at most events. Card payments only.

We currently have limited facilities, please be aware that we will be using an accessible portaloo for most events.
