Workshop: Reconnect with your creativity

Helston Old Chapel

11am-2pm 1st March 2025

With Peter Cant from the Hooligan Art Community

In this practical workshop artist and theatre-maker Peter Cant will offer impulses for creatives and practitioners in the performing arts. Suitable for anyone interested in developing their practice by exploring new ways into creativity and collaboration.

 

Who is the workshop for?
- Artists and creatives at all stages of their careers in the performing arts.
- Practitioners who want to meet potential local collaborators for future projects.
- Artists seeking an impulse to reconnect to their creativity.


Workshop aims:
- Sow seeds of creativity, connection and collaboration.
- Discover new techniques for getting in touch with your creative impulses.
- Share your ideas and connect with other creatives in a supportive environment.


Info:
- Bring a pen, paper or notebook and something that inspires you now (e.g. the book you’re reading, a poem, song, painting etc.)
- At 14:00 the workshop will end. Participants can then choose to eat lunch together at a local deli as a way to continue conversations / potential collaborations.

Liubov Sliusareva’s 25-minute documentary The Hooligan Project follows Ukrainian theatre group Hooligan Art Community as they work with young artists in Cornwall following their displacement to the UK by Russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine in February 2022.

Peter Cant is an artist, theatre director and producer (Bunker Cabaret, The Hooligan Project). He has 20 years of experience in collaborative performance-making. He is passionate about artist development and working with unusual spaces. He is the Artistic Director of Hooligan Art Community, a theatre company of Ukrainian, British and German artists that he co-founded in Kyiv, Ukraine in 2019. @petecant www.hooliganart.org

What do I need to know?

This event is at Helston Old Chapel, Meneage Road, Helston, TR13 8BH.

 

There is a large pay and display car park opposite the Helston Medical Centre, Trelawney Rd, Helston TR13 8AU. This is a 5-10 minute walk away. It is possible to drop-off and pick-up immediately outside the chapel building.
 

There is level access from the tarmac path into the side door of the chapel. There is space inside the chapel for wheelchairs. If we can support you at our event in other ways please contact us on hello@trevowhelston.co.uk

We currently have limited facilities at our new venue. Please be aware that we will be using an accessible portaloo for this event.

 

Our events may be filmed or photographed and the material may be used by Trevow Helston, its sister company Cousin Jack's or the performance company at any time for evaluation, promotion or other projects. Please be aware that it is the ticket buyer's responsibility to inform members of their party that this will be happening.
