From Glastonbury to Trevow Chapel — New Orleans-tinged folk, rich harmonies, and macabre charm.
A Bristol-based ensemble fusing New Orleans jazz, European folk, roots and blues into something utterly their own.
Around About Dusk have played Glastonbury, Cambridge Folk Festival, and Secret Garden Party, toured extensively across Europe, and earned airplay on BBC Radio 6 Music. They've recently been shortlisted for the Peter Whittingham Jazz Award, and Tom Robinson made them a Fresh Fave on Fresh On The Net, praising their "idiosyncratic feel... refreshing... playful and fun" sound where "the delivery sounds effortless."
Their music sits somewhere between old Parisian cafés, New Orleans porches, and late-night campfire songs — rich harmonies, macabre humour, and stories drawn from wonder, nature, and familiar folklore. Drawing on musette, chanson, early jazz, and roots traditions, they've built a sound that's warm, distinctive, and hard to forget.
