About the event
Disruptive Rural Queers & Drag Identity A free workshop for the LGBTQIA+ community led by artists, Scamp and Sophie Meyer (Queer Kernow) Come explore the use of drag and performance art as acts of queer disruption, resistance and celebration in rural settings. Guided by artist and drag performer Scamp and Sophie Meyer from Queer Kernow, we’ll collaboratively uncover rural queer histories in Cornwall and beyond through archival materials, group discussions and then explore practically using playful performance exercises. Open to queer people of all experience levels, we encourage you to bring your knowledge and experience to creatively experiment with queer rural disruption and resistance. Content warning: Criminality of queerness , war , homophobia , transphobia, civil unrest.
